Our seminar during the EUSBSR Annual Forum 2021 will attempt to answer these questions. It will also explore synergies between the civil protection authorities, educators, NGOs, social services and law enforcement working on increasing children and youth’s active involvement in making the Baltic Sea Region safe and secure. Organised by the CBSS Secretariat (co-coordinator of the Policy Area Secure together with the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, MSB) the seminar will include an interactive session where the audience’s knowledge of the topic will be tested and examples and ideas about possible engagement will be collected. Young fire cadets from the Danish Youth Fire Brigades will participate live and tell their stories. Register and help us determine which factors help and hinder youth and children being active contributors in the region’s resilience building. All opinions and examples will be documented in the real time to become a part of a map, which will be later shared with the audience. The seminar will be moderated by Olivia Lind Haldorsson, Senior Adviser & Head of Children at Risk Unit at CBSS Secretariat.
