PA Education joins discussion on supporting vulnerable young people into adulthood

EUSBSR Policy Area Education will contribute to a workshop on supporting vulnerable young people as they move from adolescence into adulthood during the European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels on 14 October 2026.

The workshop, “No child left behind: building bridges to adulthood”, will examine what happens when young people move beyond child-focused services and encounter fragmented systems across education, employment, housing, health and social support.

Participants will discuss how local and regional actors can create more integrated and youth-friendly pathways through coordinated support, early guidance, tailored referrals and stronger cooperation across sectors and levels of governance. The discussion takes place in the context of the EU Anti-Poverty Strategy and the strengthened European Child Guarantee.

Anders Bergström, Policy Area Coordinator for EUSBSR Policy Area Education at Norden Association Sweden, will take part as a speaker.

The workshop forms part of the European Week of Regions and Cities, taking place in Brussels in October. EUSBSR is participating in several activities during the week, including its own discussions on macro-regional cooperation.
