No child left behind: building bridges to adulthood
Too many vulnerable children experience a sharp drop in support as they move from adolescence into adulthood. Early school leaving, leaving care settings or moving beyond child-focused services can mean navigating fragmented systems, with education, employment, housing, health and social services often working separately.
The workshop “No child left behind: building bridges to adulthood”, taking place during the European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels, will explore how local and regional actors can develop more integrated and youth-friendly pathways around young people at key transition points.
The discussion will focus on coordinated support, early guidance, tailored referrals and accompaniment, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation across sectors and levels of governance. The workshop takes place in the context of the EU Anti-Poverty Strategy and the strengthened European Child Guarantee.
Anders Bergström, Policy Area Coordinator for EUSBSR Policy Area Education at Norden Association Sweden, will participate as a speaker.
