Swedish Institute: New call for project funding opening soon

The Swedish Institute (SI) opens a call for project applications under the SI Baltic Sea Neighbourhood Programme in December. Don’t miss out on the information seminars in January to learn more about how to apply!

The SI Baltic Sea Neighbourhood Programme provides funding for projects in which Swedish organisations work on cross-border challenges and opportunities together with organisations from the EU countries around the Baltic Sea and countries in the EU’s Eastern Partnership.

Projects are asked to reflect on their connection to EUSBSR by describing how their project contributes to the actions specified in the EUSBSR Action Plan.

Seed funding

The call includes two grant types: seed funding and funding for cooperation projects.

Seed funding projects should lay the foundation for cooperation. For example, projects can use seed funding to:

  • Develop concepts and identify partners for future cooperation.
  • Prepare applications for new funding (mainly EU).

Grant amount: up to SEK 500,000

Project duration: 6 – 15 months

Cooperation projects

Funding for cooperation projects aims to deepen and further develop cooperation. For example, you can use the funding to:

  • Build networks and platforms.
  • Develop and test models and methods.
  • Provide input to policy and strategy.
  • Build/spread knowledge and competence.

Grant amount: up to SEK 2,000,000

Project duration: 12 – 24 months

Within the grant type cooperation project, applicants can also use a special arrangement called Third Country Cooperation to include EU Eastern Partnership countries to an ongoing EU-funded project with Baltic Sea regional countries or to networks/platforms.
