PA Nutri Webinars: Advancing sustainable nutrient management across the Baltic Sea Region

Are you concerned that your project’s results might end up forgotten in a drawer once the funding ends? Do you find it easy to reach your own project partners and their networks but struggle to connect beyond that? Are you finding it difficult to stay informed about other relevant initiatives and the solutions they’re developing?

Each Policy Area has its own approach to tackling these challenges. For PA Nutri, the answer lies in open, collaborative webinars—designed to share insights from ongoing and past projects, and to highlight real-world policy implementation experiences from across the Baltic Sea Region. The webinars focus on different aspects of sustainable nutrient management in the Baltic Sea Region.

Upcoming webinar: Nutrient recycling in the Baltic Sea Region

9 June 2025

This session will explore nutrient recycling efforts with a spotlight on:

  • Swedish policy developments and network supporting nutrient recycling
  • Perspectives from Latvian farmers
  • Insights from EU-funded projects: FertitecCiNURGi, and GREENHOOD

The webinar will conclude with a collaborative workshop to draft a joint statement for the EU’s open consultation on the new Bioeconomy Strategy. This statement will consolidate key findings from EU-funded projects, aiming to amplify their impact and highlight the unique challenges of the Baltic Sea Region—ultimately influencing EU-level policy.

Upcoming webinar: Water and nutrient management in rural areas

9 September 2025

This session will focus on catchment planning and the role of catchment officers in adapting water management to climate change. With the EU’s upcoming Water Resilience Strategy and increasing challenges with droughts and floods, many countries are shifting towards:

  • Nature-based solutions
  • Catchment-based approaches
  • Greater stakeholder involvement

These efforts are multi-purpose and aim to boost biodiversity, enhance climate resilience, and reduce nutrient pollution.

The webinar will feature initiatives from Finland, Sweden, and Estonia, and introduce new EU-funded projects: WetESTBaltCOPWSSP, and a regional project in South-West Finland funded through Spongeworks.

Warmly welcome to join us and stay tuned for other events during autumn!
