It has been ten years since the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea region (EUSBSR) has been approved. Today, we can celebrate that the first macro-regional strategy, uniting the countries of the Baltic Sea region (Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland), helped in successfully addressing the challenges of its first decade and significantly strengthened regional cooperation.

Current impacts of climate change are evident also in the Baltic Sea Region and are expected to emerge in the future. Let's take a closer look at how EUSBSR works with climate and what the climate change means to the region.

One of great occasions to meet, get to know each other, discuss urging issues, brainstorm new solutions and get inspired from the experts and each other, is the Annual Conference of South Baltic Programme, held this year on 24-25 October in a truly picturesque and hospitable Masurian town of Ostróda, Poland.

All four EU macro-regional strategies gathered in Izola, Slovenia on 19 September for a communication workshop to learn how to communicate macro-regions in an efficient way.

The actions of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region are implemented by means of Flagships. Flagships demonstrate the progress of the Strategy, and may serve as pilot examples for desired action in a given field. In May, five new flagships were approved in the National Coordinators' meeting. We contacted the projects and asked what the status means to them.
