Challenges and opportunities in rural circular bioeconomy transition

This autumn, three Interreg Baltic Sea Region projects – CircularFarmPlastics, Rural Symbiosis and BioGold – are launching with a shared mission: to boost circular bioeconomy in rural areas by turning side streams, residues and difficult waste streams into new value, stronger cooperation and practical business opportunities.

In the webinar, we explore jointly the

• Can circular transition boost viability and economy in rural region?
• What makes valorization of biobased side-streams a challenge in the rural context?
• How to cross the barriers to circularity

We bring on stage:

Ida Norberg with BioGold – Biogas by-products for circular opportunities: connecting biogas producers, SMEs and support organisations to turn unused biogas by-products, such as biofertiliser and biogenic CO₂, into valuable rural resources.
Bastian Hoffmann with CircularFarmPlastics – Circular Solutions for Farm Plastics in the Baltic Sea Region: improving collection, reuse and recycling of agricultural plastics through farmer training, logistics models, technologies and policy dialogue.
Svea Uusen with RuralSymbiosis – Advancing Circularity in Rural Bioeconomy via Regional Symbiosis: helping rural regions build cooperation frameworks that enable agricultural and forestry side streams to become new inputs, products and business opportunities.
