Call for applications for the Baltic Sea Region Cultural Pearls 2026
The BSR Cultural Pearls programme invites local authorities to apply for the 2026 title to strengthen their community resilience through culture.

The BSR Cultural Pearls programme has launched its third call for applications for the Cultural Pearls 2026 title, inviting local authorities in the Baltic Sea Region to strengthen community resilience through culture. Part of the project by the same name, funded by Interreg Baltic Sea Region, the programme helps small and medium-sized municipalities foster social cohesion, civic engagement, and trust by integrating culture into local development.
Selected cities receive expert guidance, peer learning, and resources to develop and implement an Action Plan aimed at creating healthier, more inclusive neighborhoods. The programme also offers training and networking opportunities, supporting municipalities in using culture as a driver for inclusive and sustainable development. With rising competition—18 cities applied in 2024—the programme provides mentorship throughout the application process, ensuring all applicants benefit, regardless of final selection.
Applications for the Cultural Pearls 2026 title are open until 4 April 2025. More details on the application process can be found HERE.
